Why Coaching Works

I often get asked about the impact of coaching and the return on investment. I want to share a great infographic depicting how professional coaching results in increased productivity, positive people and has a huge return on investment.  The data was taken from the 2009 ICF Global Coaching Client Study.

Increased productivity measures include:

  • Improved work performance (70%)
  • Improved business management (61%)
  • Improved time management (57%)
  • Improved team effectiveness (51%)

Improved positivity measures include:

  • Increased self confidence (80%)
  • Increased relationships (73%)
  • Improved communication skills (72%)
  • Improved work life balance (67%)

Return on Investment (ROI):

Coaching offers a good ROI for individual clients and a significant return for companies –

  • 68% – individuals that made back at least their investment
  • 86% – companies that made back at least their investment

What benefits have you seen for yourself, your team  or organization?

Maximize Your Potential!

In my blog series, Power of Coaching, I have interviewed Patti Cotton with Patti Cotton Coaching, in Southern California.

Patti helps brilliant women discover and claim their best self, and help them architect and launch their next chapter, so that they can present their great work more powerfully and profitably to the world.

This interview is packed with insightful information that will help you better understand the power of coaching.

In this interview, we discussed:

  • what is an individuals’ ‘Immunity to Change’
  • how an individual’s ‘immune system’ develops and may get in the way of leading the life they want
  • learn about the impact of your ‘immunity systems’ on getting what you want
  • learn how to break through your ‘immunity system’
  • impact of breaking through one self-limiting area and how this can affect the whole person
  • the impact of coaching on individuals and organizations
  • how coaching can help individuals realize more focus and results in their personal and professional lives
  • two success stories –
    • Because of this one change in my client’s personal life, she told me – “I never thought that working on this one thing would make me feel so happy and alive everywhere in my life including my work. I am more productive, more energetic, I am just on fire.’’

The Media Interview – An Important Tool For Your Business

Clients have often proclaimed, “No news is good news.” If you agree with this statement, you are missing a valuable
opportunity to share information with your stakeholders.

Positive media exposure can help increase a company’s visibility and reputation potentially leading to increased sales and profitability.

Media relations is a vital tool in the marketing strategy of any business. This takes planning and must be tied to your company’s business plan.
One way to get your good news story told is to give media interviews. To prepare for a proactive media interview I recommend the following:

  • research the most appropriate media outlet to pitch your story
  • become familiar with the news outlet and the reporter
  • identify the goal of the interview. Is it to inform, educate, engage, influence, or inspire?
  • develop your main message or theme – think of it as the headline of the story
  • prepare up to three supporting points to illustrate and validate the main message including background information, data, anecdotes
  • define who you are talking to and write your main message with the audience in mind
  • anticipate and prepare for likely and dreaded questions media may ask
  • practice, practice, practice

Marielle offers media programs to help her clients tell their organization’s story with confidence and be more in control of the media interview. For more information go to www.redworkscommunications.com
